Rohit Sharma will finally return to the Indian team
after overcoming Corona's stress. Rohit will also lead the team in the three-match T20 series
against England. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah will play in the second and third
T20s, though not in the first T20I.
The series will start on July 7 in Southampton, England. In other words, the visiting India will play a smaller version of cricket two days after the end of the only Test match against the English. Keeping the World Cup in mind, Rohit's will try to prepare themselves against England.
Meanwhile, since they will not get a break after playing in the Test match, India will play in the first T20 without star cricketers like Kohli, Bumrah, Shreyas Ayyar and Rabindra Jadeja. They will rest for one match. Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Arshdeep Singh and Rahul Tripathi are in the squad for this match.
However, they will not play in the following two T20 teams. Kohli, Bumrah, Ayre and Jadejara will return to the second and third T20 squads. Surprisingly, Mohammad Shami did not get a place on the T20 team. However, the right-arm pacer was the highest wicket-taker of the latest Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Gujarat Titans.
